In a survey study, hospitals that had a very active physician champion of Get With the Guidelines—Resuscitation were four times more likely to be in a higher survival quintile than participating hospitals that did not.

PPIs started for stress ulcer prophylaxis in critically ill patients often continued after ICU, hospital discharge
A study at one U.S. academic medical center found that nearly half of patients who started proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs) in the ICU without an indication for outpatient use continued them after transfer to the floor, and 27% continued them after discharge.

Cancer was still the most common primary diagnosis in those receiving inpatient palliative care, but other diagnoses are becoming more common, according to a retrospective analysis from 2013 to 2017.
