Write for ACP Hospitalist

Below are brief descriptions of ACP Hospitalist sections written by physician or medical student writers. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis. Please note that articles are unpaid, that ACP Hospitalist is not a peer-reviewed publication, and that articles published in ACP Hospitalist are not indexed on PubMed. Brief Case: Short case studies about patients. Each Brief Case summary should be approximately 350-400 words long. Writers can submit individual cases or a group at an institution can work together to submit 4-5 cases. Please e-mail us at acphospitalist@acponline.org to discuss your topic before writing. Expert Analysis: Detailed analysis of a specific condition—how it is diagnosed, managed, etc. Please e-mail us at acphospitalist@acponline.org to discuss your topic before writing. Examples of Expert Analysis articles are online.

Perspectives: Opinion pieces about a subject related to hospital medicine. Writers should take a distinct position. Articles should be approximately 800 words. Examples of Perspectives articles are online.

Self-Examination: Essay-style piece about a topic related to hospital medicine that affected the clinician on a personal level. Article should be approximately 800 words. Examples of Self-Examination articles are online.
