Nearly 12% of inpatients with influenza had acute cardiovascular events, CDC study finds
Adult patients hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed influenza who experienced acute cardiovascular events had a median length of stay of five days, with 31% admitted to the ICU, 14% requiring mechanical ventilation, and 7% dying in the hospital.

Presence of behavioral health condition didn't affect smoking quit rates during hospitalization
Similar rates of tobacco use were seen between inpatients with behavioral health conditions and controls postdischarge. However, after six months, patients with a behavioral health condition were less likely to report abstinence.
