Study finds racial disparities in hospitalization of patients presenting to ED with ACS
The proportion of patients who were discharged home from the ED with a diagnostic code of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) was 12% among Black patients, 6% among White patients, 9% among Hispanic patients, and 9% among Asian/Pacific Islander patients.

For ACS patients, risk of repeat event high immediately after discharge
A follow-up analysis of patients hospitalized for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) found a greater than 40% risk of nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal ischemic stroke, or cardiovascular death shortly after discharge, compared to a risk of only about 6% per year after one year.

Early CT coronary angiography does not appear warranted in suspected ACS
A randomized trial in the U.K. found that use of invasive angiography decreased and length of stay slightly increased in patients at intermediate risk for acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who had early CT coronary angiography, but management and one-year outcomes were not affected.
