Disparities seen in postdischarge care for Medicaid beneficiaries
A study in Alabama found that 58% of Medicaid beneficiaries with diabetes and heart failure did not receive guideline-recommended care after hospitalization. Risk of inadequate follow-up was particularly high among patients who were Black or Hispanic.

Women less likely to get guideline-recommended care for MI with cardiogenic shock
The analysis of patients admitted with acute myocardial infarction (MI) with cardiogenic shock found higher rates of in-hospital mortality and major bleeding in women compared to men but no difference in mortality or heart failure hospitalizations at one year.

Care disparities, barriers common in homeless patients hospitalized for acute MI
