Intensive treatment may increase adverse events in older adults with elevated blood pressure
Intensive blood pressure treatment in the first 48 hours of hospitalization for a noncardiovascular diagnosis was associated with greater risk of a composite outcome that included cardiac injury, acute kidney injury, and transfer to the ICU.

No association between appropriate antibiotics and survival of elderly CAUTI patients
The results suggest that clinicians could defer antibiotic treatment of catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) in some patients until full clinical and microbiologic evaluation is complete, the study authors said.

Outcomes of hospital-level care at home comparable to hospitalization for older adults
A randomized trial of hospital at home found no difference in the proportion of patients who had died or were living at home at six months, although participants who had received care at home were less likely to be in long-term residential care than those who had been hospitalized.
